D?un point de vue historique, l?occupation du site de Saint-Vincent remonte à l?époque préhistorique comme le montre le dolmen de Raspailhac dont les vestiges sont exposés au musée d?Olargues.
Saint- Vincent est une ancienne commanderie de l?Ordre des Hospitaliers de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem de Rhodes et de Malte dépendant de la Commanderie de Narbonne du Grand Prieuré de Saint-Gilles de la
langue de Provence. Au XIXe et au XXe, le village s?est spécialisé dans la production castanéicole.

The village, located North West of Olargues, is made-up of 13 hamlets scattered and hidden in the small valleys or hung from the Espinouse Massif, first foothills of the Massif Central

Historically, the occupation of the site of St. Vincent dates back to the prehistoric period as evidenced by the dolmen Raspailhac which remains are exposed in the Olargues museum.


St. Vincent is a former Commandery of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta Hospitallers, dependent on Narbonne Commandery and Saint-Gilles Grand Priory (Provence language). In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the village specialized in the chestnuts production.

The view over the valley and Caroux foothills is remarkable. The town is bordered by the Jaur in the South and numerous creeks come down the steep hillsides.

House and church of Saint John of Jerusalem Hospitallers, named since 1531. Pictorials well preserved. The church contains a beautiful chruchyard cross. 15th century Calvary listed as historical monument.
