Mauroul, le lavoir
Between Olargues and Mons, St. Julien is composed of eight hamlets (the horts, Vilaris, chestnuts, Mauroul, Auziale, the Cros, Sagnes, Fabrègue high and low) hung on the southern slopes of the Espinouse massif.
The town is named after the Priory of St. Julien, whose church is mentioned in the ninth century. It has a Romanesque apse with polychrome Lombard decorations. Its sound quality is recognized and makes it a special venue for classical concerts.
